Rolling Pin NECRON

Textured rolling pins that can press a continuous, repeating pattern into clay and modelling putty. Made of transparent PMMA plastic with excellent non-stick properties. Non-toxic. Available in different textures, allowing you to choose the right one based on your specific needs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

1st - Mix the modelling putty/clay well according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

2nd - Spread the modelling putty/clay over the surface you wish to work on. Ensure a smooth and even surface before using the rolling pin for an optimal result. *** We recommend using a smooth rolling pin for this.

3rd - Depending on the type of modelling putty/clay, it is advisable to wet the rolling pin to prevent sticking.

4th - Move the rolling pin slowly and with even pressure over the surface for a uniform texture.

5th - Remove excess putty/clay with a sharp knife. It is recommended to do this after the putty/clay has dried to prevent deformation.

MATERIALS:

There are many different types of putty and clay available, and all of them can be textured with the right technique.

Polymer clay (such as Fimo or Sculpey) is generally quite easy to work with using these rolling pins, as mistakes can be easily corrected before the clay is baked. If the goal is to create textured bases, we recommend using MDF bases, as you can apply the polymer clay directly onto an MDF base and then place it in the oven, including the base. The baking time for this clay is approximately 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood may release a slight odour similar to toasted bread, but do not worry, it will not burn!

In the case of epoxy putty, there are various techniques that yield similar results. The advantage is that you do not need to bake them, so you can apply them directly to plastic surfaces.

For Green Stuff putty, which is particularly sticky, it is necessary to slightly moisten the putty or the rolling pin with some water before texturing. You can also reduce the stickiness by using talcum powder or sculpting vaseline.

Other epoxy putties, such as Milliput, are also suitable, but we do not recommend wetting them too much as this will make your work more difficult. If the mixture is too sticky, it is best to keep kneading until the stickiness disappears.

*** For this type of epoxy putty, it is very important to clean the rolling pins well after use.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

After working with the rolling pins, use a scrubbing brush and plenty of water to remove any residue.
